Verity Fowler-Rouault secures the only suspended sentence in large scale conspiracy
Verity Fowler-Rouault accepted late instructions on a large-scale conspiracy to steal involving voluminous and complex evidence. Within days, she had a strong grasp of the evidence and subsequently made representations to the Crown on her client’s role and the evidence he faced. As a result of her representations and strong stance on negotiation, the Crown offered Ms Fowler-Rouault’s client a lesser offence (he was the only Defendant to be made such an offer).
All Defendants received custodial sentences between 4 – 5 years. After well-argued and pithy mitigation, Ms Fowler-Rouault’s client received a 10 month suspended sentence.
