Molly Pinkus leading Ioana Nedelcu secure acquittal after successful submissions of no case to answer in a case alleging modern slavery offences. The Defendant, second of eight on the Indictment was charged with conspiracy to traffic people from Romania into the UK, conspiracy to require others to perform forced and compulsory labour and money laundering (over �2 million). The case ran for 6 weeks at Blackfriars Crown Court. At the end of the prosecution case, submissions of no case to answer on all three counts were successful and the Defendant, a man of good character, was released having spent 7 months in custody.
