James Elvidge Secures Acquittal in Conspiracy to Cultivate Cannabis Trial at Manchester Crown Court.
The defendant was accused of being part of a conspiracy to produce huge quantities of cannabis at two grow houses. He was put under surveillance and was seen leaving and entering the grow houses, participating in clandestine meetings with co-conspirators and visiting hydroponic shops. The prosecution also relied on extensive cell site and billing data together with documentation relating to the production of cannabis found at his home address. The prosecution case was that he was the main player in the conspiracy.
The defendant asserted that he ran a legitimate property maintenance and development company and any connection with the conspiracy was merely coincidental. He was acquitted on a majority of 11/1.
Instructed by Atta Rahman of Harris Solicitors.
