Ioana Nedelcu successfully contests her client's role within a drugs line at a Newton Hearing
Ioana represented the owner of a drugs line in a contesed Newton Hearing and persuaded the court that the Crown's position on the Defendant's role was wrong. Ioana sucessfuly persuaded the Judge that the telephone evidence is indicative of the Defendant falling into a significant, and not leading role. The Newton hearing involved calling the evidence of the Crown and the Defence drugs expert and their analysis of call data and text messages.
The court ruled in favour of the Defendant, who received a significantly lower sentence and kept his full credit having entered Guilty pleas at the Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing.
