With a Masters' degree from Oxford University, William Chipperfield has a general common law practice with a particular focus on criminal law, specifically road traffic and health and safety offences.

William came to the Bar from the broadcasting industry, having worked internationally as a senior executive in the special events division of PanAmSat (now Intelsat). In 2005 William began his legal studies, emerging from Lady Margaret Hall (Oxford) some years later, with a Masters dgree in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

He exhibits a strong commitment to both criminal and social justice, and as well as his legal practice in the UK, he continues in his role as a Director of Amicus, a charity dedicated to providing legal assistance to prisoners on death row in the United States.

Whilst at Oxford, William served as a fire-fighter with Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue Service. In addition to his usual duties, he also received driver training, paramedic instruction, and health & safety application and enforcement. This experience enables him to bring a unique approach to matters arising in these areas, such as road traffic collisions and personal injury occurring in the workplace.
