We welcome applications for tenancy or pupillage from individuals with the ambition and commitment needed to develop a career at Farringdon chambers. We seek to follow best practice on equality and diversity in all aspects of our activity, including recruitment.

Tenancy

How does it work?

  • Our usual approach is to review written applications from prospective tenants and then call in candidates for a single interview before a panel.
  • We may also take up references.
  • If you are successful in your application for tenancy, you will be contacted within 48 hours of your interview.

Farringdon Chambers Pupillage Policy

Farringdon Chambers believes that pupillage and recruitment are the cornerstones of its future success. Pupillage at Farringdon Chambers, and the selection of its tenants, is founded upon fairness, equality and merit . We are an equal opportunities employer.

No pupil will be accepted in Chambers who has not come through the Chambers selection procedure.

It is Chambers’ intention to ensure that the opportunity to undertake pupillage is open to all upon merit and ability. We have developed a system of selection over the years that we believe helps us recruit the pupils whom we believe will be able to work with us and at the same time is open and fair. We are looking for candidates with proven academic ability and with a character that we think will fit in and work well with Farringdon Chambers.


We advertise all available places via the Pupillage portal on the Bar Council web site www.barcouncil.org.uk. Applications in writing should be addressed to Molly Pinkus. Currently we are seeking two pupils. The current application deadline (as advertised on the pupillage portal) is 8th March 2012.
